Studying online with Forme Education

Balancing study with everyday life can be challenging. Studying online enables you the freedom and flexibility of choosing when, where and what you (need to) study and you can interact with educators by phone, email, and web conferencing during business hours.

Forme Education’s online resources include learning content in the form of slides and e-books, embedded videos and links to additional relevant videos and sites and pop quizzes to self-monitor your learning progress. Forme Education facilitates monthly workshops which you can join live or access as a recording.

The amount of time spent engaged in the formal learning activities provided in the online resources will vary from student to student. To give you an idea of how much time you’ll need to allocate to your studies including undertaking assessment activities, we recommend you allow approximately 10 – 12 hours a week. Resources are available to you 24/7, you can revisit the materials as frequently and in as much detail as you need.

Assessment for the qualification and Accredited Pathway modules includes a variety of case studies, compiling portfolios of evidence, projects, short-answer questions, undertaking practical activities and submission of video and or audio recordings, and written assignments and reports.

Units of competency are ‘clustered’ into modules to minimise duplication of content and assessment across multiple units.

Student Resource Requirements

In order to study online with Forme Education, students need access to an internet connection and a PC or Mac. Delivery of education will include video learning and live Skype sessions and will require a minimum of 4GB of data per month. You will also need access to a digital video recording device and/or a digital camera and associated software to save and upload video, image and audio files. Many mobile phones and smart phones include this technology.

Software to view online videos and images. Software such as Adobe Reader, Windows Media Player, Windows Photo Viewer etc. are available as free downloads from the internet.
