Enjoy this time to be mindful.

Go for a walk outside. Leave your phone at home and be present in your surroundings. 

The Forme team are excited to take on this week’s offline challenge, to go for a walk outside, and leave our phones at home.

Mobile phones have almost become an extension of our bodies, we take them everywhere and we are always plugged in. According to a mobile consumer survey conducted in 2015 by Deloitte, Australians  ‘look at their smartphone more than 30 times a day on average’ and younger Australians ‘check their smartphone on average 56 times a day, with 5% checking more than 200 times a day’.

This week we ask you to unplug, go for a walk outside and take a moment to be mindful. Depending on where you live, you could be strolling through a lush green rainforest, walking along your local beach or meandering your way through the city streets. Whatever the locale, leave your phone behind and soak up your surroundings.

Notice the small details in the space around you, breath deeply and let go, even if it’s only for 15 minutes. Look up at the sky, notice the faces of the people you walk by and the small intricacies of life. Clear your mind and feel the freedom!
