We’re up to the 3rd challenge of Forme’s 30-day digital detox, and this week we’re moving from screen to print! Instead of reading the news online like you do every other day – why not read a newspaper?

In this digitally driven world it would be fair to say that much of our news comes from digital sources. Whether it’s from social pipelines, like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, or directly through websites – our reading practices are far different to those of our predecessors.

From the moment we wake in the morning and check our social media accounts, we are bombarded with news from many fronts. If you’re subscribed to online newspapers – it’s in our emails, or it’s on websites we visit throughout the day.

Join us for this challenge! Pick up a newspaper and take in the sensory experience of reading offline. Be mindful of the smell, the sound of the pages and the feel of the paper beneath your fingertips. Take time out from your busy schedule to read the newspaper and go offline to connect with what’s happening in the world around you.
