Challenge 2 Digital Detox – Eat Lunch Outside
Eat lunch outside to enhance productivity by boosting your energy and focus.
Come on! It’s time to step away from our desks, leave our computers behind and reclaim our lunch breaks!
It doesn’t matter if you’re a student, employee, or running your own business – if you value your health and well being it’s equally important to make time for a lunch break every day.
We are all guilty of hurrying through our lunch breaks, eating our food at our desks or on the run. We think we can get more done by multi-tasking, but sadly, it could have the opposite effect.
Psychologist Frank J. Sileo says that, “A lunch break is important for your physical and mental health. Studies have shown that taking a lunch break can reduce stress. Time for relaxation away from work has also been correlated with heightened productivity and creativity”.
So, if you’re feeling flat and want to get your creativity flowing – stand up, go outside and eat your lunch outdoors. This half an hour of mindfulness could be just what you need to kick-start your afternoon!
Breathe in the fresh air, feel the warmth of the sunshine on your face and practice mindful eating as you appreciate every mouthful of food. Make healthy choices and fuel your body with nutritious goodness that feeds your brain, allowing you to refocus and return to your desk ready for a super productive afternoon.
